English countryside church at golden hour

Our story

Built on faith, rooted in community

Altar & Heir was founded with a simple conviction: that Christians seeking a life partner deserve a space that honours their faith, not one that treats it as a filter.

Why we built this

Too many Christian singles have felt invisible on mainstream dating apps — their faith reduced to a checkbox, their values an afterthought. We built Altar & Heir because we believe that shared faith is not just one compatibility factor among many. It is the foundation.

Launched in the UK & Ireland, we serve Christians of all denominations and all ages. Whether you are 22 or 62, Anglican or Pentecostal, city-based or rural, you belong here. Our community is defined not by a single tradition but by a shared commitment to following Christ.

We are a small, independent team. We are not backed by a tech conglomerate with misaligned incentives. Every decision we make is guided by one question: does this serve our members well?

Our faith statement

Altar & Heir is a Christian platform. We welcome all who identify as followers of Jesus Christ, across the breadth of the Church.

Interdenominational

We welcome Anglicans, Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, Pentecostals, Reformed, Orthodox, and all who hold to the Christian faith. Denominational differences are respected, not erased.

Faith-centred matching

Denomination, church attendance, and the role of faith in daily life are core parts of every profile — because they matter to you.

Grounded in grace

We hold our community to a standard of kindness, honesty, and respect. We believe these are not just social niceties but expressions of Christian character.

Community guidelines

Altar & Heir is a place of genuine connection. To keep it that way, we ask every member to commit to the following.

01

Be honest

Use a real photo and represent yourself truthfully. Authenticity is the foundation of every good relationship.

02

Be kind

Treat every member with the dignity they deserve. Rejection is part of dating — how you handle it reflects your character.

03

Be safe

Never share financial information or feel pressured to meet before you are ready. Report anything that feels wrong — we take every report seriously.

04

Keep it clean

This is a faith-based community. Explicit content, harassment, and dishonest behaviour will result in immediate removal.
